Château La Coste — when contemporary art engages in dialogue with the vineyard
Château La Coste, at Puy-Sainte-Réparade in Provence, is one of the most extraordinary experiences in the world: a organic vineyard of 200 hectares transformed into open-air museum of art and architecture. More than 50 permanent works by world-renowned artists and architects — Tadao Ando (Wine cellar & gallery), Jean Nouvel (barrel cellar), Frank Gehry (flag), Louise Bourgeois, Sean Scully, Tracey Emin — punctuate the 4 km vineyard trail. This private tour includes the official guided tour (reserved for 10:00 AM), gourmet lunch on site and organic wine tasting. Departure at 7:30 AM is essential to catch the 10:00 AM guided tour.
Château La Coste is at ~1h40 from Nice. Departure at 7:30 am is essential to arrive at 9:15 am and participate in the guided tour at 10:00 am (only morning slot). Guided tours can be booked on chateau-la-coste.com — we do this when you confirm your tour.

Your driver will pick you up directly from your hotel or address — Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Villefranche and surrounding areas. Very early departure at 7:30 a.m. is the essential condition to arrive at 09:15 and participate in the 10:00 guided tour — the only daily morning slot.

The road crosses the Provençal countryside — Estérel, approach to Aix-en-Provence and the Durance plain. The landscape flattens out and becomes covered with vineyards as one approaches Puy-Sainte-Réparade.

Upon arrival at the estate, you'll be greeted at the entrance shop. Time for a coffee, to explore the map of the 50+ artworks, and to prepare for the... guided tour at 10am. The estate is open from 9am (low season) / 9:30am (high season) — our arrival at 9:15am guarantees optimal acclimatization time.

There Official guided tour of Château La Coste is the central experience of this tour. Accompanied by a specialist guide, you will walk the 4 km vineyard trail to discover the major works: the Jean Nouvel's barrel cellar (concrete and steel structure, spectacular lighting effects), the Tadao Ando's Gallery (minimalist Japanese architecture in raw concrete facing the hill), the Frank Gehry's Pavilion, the monumental sculptures of Louise Bourgeois and Tracey Emin, the XXL canvases of Sean Scully in their open-air setting, and the architectural interventions of Oscar Niemeyer, Richard Rogers, Renzo Piano. An ongoing conversation between art, architecture and organic vineyards.

The estate's restaurant, with its terrace overlooking the vineyards and artworks, offers seasonal Provençal cuisine paired with the château's organic wines. Accessible and of high quality. Reservations made by us.
Francis Mallmann, The world-renowned Argentinian chef (7 Feu, Netflix — Chef's Table) has set up his open fire at Château La Coste. A rare gastronomic experience centered around embers and Provençal produce. Reservation required — we do it during the confirmation process.

After lunch, Guided tasting of organic wines from Château La Coste — white, rosé and red wines produced using certified organic farming methods since 2012, with a transition towards biodynamic farming. White Vermentino, THE rosé Provence and the reds made from Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon are among the best organic wines of Provence. Optionally, the free route (map provided, ~2h) allows you to discover the works at your own pace — ideal for photographers and art lovers wishing to linger.
