Bandol AOC — the two legendary estates in a single day
The name Bandol AOC produces one of the greatest red wines in France — driven by the Mourvèdre, A capricious and sublime Mediterranean grape variety, requiring heat, sirocco winds, and long aging to flourish. This private tour takes you to the heart of two exceptional estates: the legendary Tempier Estate, which fought for AOC status in 1941 and has become a global benchmark; and the majestic Pibarnon Castle, Perched at 350 meters overlooking the Mediterranean on Triassic limestone unique in Provence. Available exclusively on Fridays — the only day when both estates and the Hostellerie Bérard are accessible as a tour.
Tempier Estate Open Mon–Fri 9am–12pm / 1:30pm–5:30pm Closed on weekends and public holidays. Château Pibarnon : reservation required at 04 94 90 12 73. Friday is the only time slot that allows you to visit both properties in the same day — this tour cannot be done on a Saturday or Sunday.

Your driver will pick you up at your hotel or address — Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Villefranche and surrounding areas. Early morning departures at 8:00 AM is essential to respect the reception slots of both areas.

The road crosses the Estérel then plunges into the Var interior. As you approach Castellet, the Bandol vineyards appear on the limestone hills — the unique terroir that gives Mourvèdre its power and complexity.

THE Tempier Estate is one of the most legendary properties in France. It is Lucien Peyraud who, in the 1930s–40s, led the fight for Bandol to obtain its appellation d'origine contrôlée in 1941, saving this thousand-year-old vineyard from certain disappearance. The American food journalist Alice Waters (At Panisse's) and the wine journalist Kermit Lynch have helped to make Tempier known throughout the world, particularly in the United States. Today managed by the 4th generation of the Peyraud-Hoesch family, the estate welcomes visitors on weekdays for a tour of the family property and a guided tasting.
Friday morning is ideal — reception available before the 12pm break. Bottles can be purchased on site.

THE Pibarnon Castle is one of the most spectacular estates in Provence. Purchased in 1977 by Eric of Saint-Victor, he is perched at 350 meters altitude on blue Triassic limestones Unique in Provence. Its terraced vineyards, facing due south, overlook the Mediterranean—a breathtaking view of the Bay of Bandol. This exceptional terroir gives the wines incomparable minerality, freshness, and aromatic complexity. Visit the terraces, discover biodynamic Mourvèdre, and enjoy a guided tasting of exceptional wines.

Housed in a former 15th-century convent overlooking the Bandol vineyards, it offers high-quality Mediterranean cuisine perfectly paired with local wines. Enjoy a panoramic terrace overlooking the vines, market-fresh produce, and recommended Bandol wine pairings.
La Table du Castellet (3 Michelin stars) is open for lunch on Fridays. But the Reservations must be made several months in advance. If you are planning this tour well in advance, please mention it — we will try to make the reservation.

Tempier (Mon–Fri) and Pibarnon are closed on weekends. Friday is the only time you can visit both estates in the same day. Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance (extended notice period – estate reservations).
