Peyrassol — where contemporary art meets Michelin-starred organic wine
There Commandery of Peyrassol in Flassans-sur-Issole is one of the most fascinating properties in Provence: a Organic vineyard AOP Côtes de Provence of 230 hectares which houses a permanent collection of 70+ monumental sculptures among the vineyards and undergrowth — including works by Bernar Venet, Jaume Plensa, Xavier Veilhan and Joana Vasconcelos. Owned by Philippe Austruy since 2001, it is also known for its Michelin-starred restaurant Chez Jeannette Open from Thursday to Monday. After this highlight, the Château Margüi (Châteauvert) offers the intimacy of a secluded organic family estate. A tour for art lovers as well as wine enthusiasts.
The restaurant At Jeannette's (Michelin-starred) is open Thursday to Monday only. This tour is therefore designed for Thursdays to Mondays year-round. Restaurant reservations are made by us upon confirmation. The Commanderie de Peyrassol is open every day except December 25th to 29th and January.

Your driver will pick you up directly from your hotel or any address of your choice — Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Villefranche, Juan-les-Pins and surrounding areas. Departure at 9:00 AM to arrive in Peyrassol shortly after opening time.

We leave the coast to venture into inland Provence — hills covered with vines, pine forests and perched villages. Flassans-sur-Issole, in the heart of the Var, is one of the highest quality production areas of the Côtes de Provence.

There Commandery of Peyrassol is one of the oldest estates in Provence — its history dates back to 13th Century Knights Templar. Purchased in 2001 by Philippe Austruy, it has been transformed into a unique venue combining excellent organic wines and contemporary art. guided tour of the wine cellars (~€20/person, ~1.5 hours) reveals the secrets of making certified organic PDO wines — white, rosé and red — followed by a guided tasting of 5 vintages exceptional.

Between the cellar tour and lunch, free time to explore the monumental sculpture park Peyrassol — one of the largest open-air collections of contemporary art in Provence. More 70 permanent artworks by Bernar Venet, Jaume Plensa, Xavier Veilhan, Joana Vasconcelos, Jean-Michel Othoniel punctuate the vineyard paths and the undergrowth. Class Remarkable Garden by the Ministry of Culture, this place is an experience in its own right — art in direct dialogue with the landscape and the vineyard.

At Jeannette's is the gourmet restaurant of the Commanderie de Peyrassol, crowned with a Michelin star. Located in the estate's historic buildings, it offers precise and flavorful Provençal cuisine, perfectly paired with the château's organic wines. An exceptional gastronomic experience in a setting steeped in history—between Templar walls and sculpted gardens. In case of unavailability or preference, the Lou's Bistro (same domain, same opening days) offers a more relaxed but equally high-quality experience.

We cross the Var hills to reach Châteauvert, a small village perched in the heart of the Provençal forest.

THE Château Margüi Châteauvert is the secret estate of the day. A small family estate run by organic farming, Nestled between forest and scrubland in a setting of unspoiled, wild beauty, its wines—rosé, white, and red AOP Coteaux Varois en Provence—possess a strong identity, imbued with the freshness of the altitude. An intimate tasting experience, far from the tourist crowds, in the spirit of true wine and authentic terroir.

Chez Jeannette (Michelin-starred) is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. This route operates from Thursday to Monday all year round (except for Peyrassol, which is closed from December 25th to 29th and in January).
Approximately 100 km from Nice (1 hour 5 minutes one way). Journey from Peyrassol to Margüi: approximately 25 minutes. All within the inland Provence region of the Var — much less travel than the Bandol or Saint-Tropez tours.
